Creep Behaviors Evaluation of IN738 Superalloy Welded by Pulsed Nd:YAG Laser Through the Small Punch Creep Test

In this study, the creep behavior of base metal, weld and heat-affected zone IN738 superalloy welded by pulsed Nd:YAG laser was investigated newly developed small punch testing method in temperature 700 °C under forces 350 N 45N. The results time–displacement showed that aging heat treatment causes a significant increase rupture time compared to casting specimen. This due an volume fraction decrease size ?´ particles, which create more substantial barrier movement dislocations. On other hand, performing solution before welding, phases such as ?´, ?–?´ eutectic, Cr-Mo boride, Ni-Zr intermetallic, MC carbide, reduced cast specimen forming partial liquation HAZ, were removed.
